The great Smoking Mountain of central Mexico, Popocatéptl is the second highest volcano in the country. Part of the Trans-Mexican volcanic belt, it's joined to the Iztaccíhuatl volcano to the north by the high saddle known as the Paso de Cortés. At over 17,80 feet, it's the second highest volcano in Mexico.
